The mechanism is simple. The effect is not.
A black vinyl-style disc sits in a recessed channel inside the acrylic frame. A small pull-cord (the earphone cable aesthetic detail) is attached to the axle. Pull it and release — the disc spins freely, exactly like a record on a turntable, then gradually slows and stops.
The label at the centre of the disc is your custom artwork. While spinning, it becomes a blur of colour. When stopped, the image resolves — clear, detailed, exactly what you designed.

The label — the centre circle of the disc — is your canvas. Standard label size is approximately 25–30mm diameter. Small but meaningful. What works at that scale:

Album art crop A tight crop of existing album artwork — the most saturated colour section, the most recognisable element. The disc format references vinyl records directly, so album art on the label is the most native choice.

How big is the label area I can print on? Approximately 25–30mm diameter depending on the disc size. We provide a template with safe zones and bleed areas. Small bold designs work better than fine detail.
Can I print on both the label centre and the disc surface itself? The label centre (the inner circle) is the primary printable area. The disc surface between the label and the edge is the black vinyl texture — this is not a full-surface print format.
Can I have a different image visible behind the disc through a transparent frame? Yes. For the transparent square frame, a second image layer is visible behind the disc. This creates a depth effect — the label on the disc in the foreground, a background image visible around and behind it.
Can I order 1 prototype before committing to a run? Yes. No minimum. Most people ordering for band merchandise or fan projects want to hold the sample before announcing the product to their audience.
What file should I send for the label artwork? A square or circular PNG at 300dpi minimum. We crop to the label circle during layout. Bold, simple imagery with strong colour contrast works best at the final label size.
